What Is The Society Of Government Meeting Professionals?
SGMP is the only national organization
in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to government meetings.
Our mission is to enhance the knowledge and expertise
of government meeting professionals. Our objectives
are to improve the quality and promote the cost-effectiveness
of government meetings. We were founded in 1981 and
have grown to 30 chapters and nearly 3,500 members.

WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED WITH YOUR LOCAL SGMP
CHAPTER?
Affiliation with a local chapter is available to every
SGMP member at no additional charge. All chapter
members receive additional member benefits exclusively
through that chapter.
WHO CAN JOIN SGMP?
Planners: Government employees who plan/implement
any type of meeting [$50/year], or individuals under
contract to government agencies to assist with those
meetings [$125]
Suppliers: Individuals who provide facilities/services
to government planners outside of planning implementing
[$300], or individuals compensated by those suppliers
via retainer or commission [$225]
HOW DO I JOIN SGMP?
Complete the applicable membership application form(s)
found on our Web site. Supplier category applicants must join
along with a Planner category applicant.
